Dallas get back Najera

Now, I'm not a huge Mavs guy.  Actually, I'm quite the opposite.  Does anyone else wish that Dirk would just cut that hair already?  But that's beside the point.

No, the big news today has nothing to do with Dirk, but Eduardo Najera.  Najera has always been a fan favorite in Dallas, and I remember him more for his playing in the Big D than I remember anything about his little stint for the Nets.  And his job with the Nets is forgettable - but that's what everybody's time with the Nets is like.  So here's to a new start for Narjera, so long as he doesn't torch the Blazers at some 'coming out party' type of game people seem to have against Rip City lately.

So why would I even mention a trade like this?  Well, because he's only the second Mexican born player to play in the NBA.  That's kind of a huge deal.  They don't grow them so big south of the border.  And being Mexican-American myself, I sort of followed Najera's progress along the way.

Does anybody remember who the first Mexican born player was to play in the NBA?  Don't worry I didn't either.  Senor Horacio Llamas.  Played a bit for Phoenix I guess.

A tip of the sombrero to Najera...and Llamas I guess.
