Well, despite losing the game last night, the Blazers got a huge bump with the return of my favorite player, Nicolas Batum.
He played just under 11 minutes. Went 3-5 from the field and ended up with six points. Not bad. I thought he could've played a bit more, but the Blazers went in their typical fashion and started to get conservative with the rotation while playing with the lead.
Batum was +8 in the +/- category. Some people don't like the +/- stat, but I use it. It does tell a story.
The game last night was being won when the bench players were playing. Not one Portland starter had a + rating in the +/- category. And it showed. The Blazers started out being down 12 or 14 points. And then the bench would come in and establish a bit of a lead. And then the starters would come in and let the Hornets right back into it.
Ahhhhh. But that's neither here nor there. I won't break down the entire game. I'm just happy that Batum is back. And as a present, TJ sent me a Batum auto that arrived in my mail yesterday just before the game. It was a good day to be a Blazer fan.
