Stock Watch: Blake Griffin is a BUY

Blake Griffin is a BUY, and really, it's because he's out for the season now with surgery.  His loss of the 09/10 season could be your gain.  His cards have been undervalued due to his attending Clippers games in a suit.  And being the number one pick of the draft, his offerings are more varied and offer more levels of initial investment than do some other rookies.

After Greg Oden and Blake Griffin, I doubt many more teams will be drafting big men with their top picks.  But that doesn't mean that these players won't be productive.  And it certaintly doesn't mean that they won't be the cornerstones that their franchises hope they will be.  They just need time.

Thanks to Tyreke Evans incredible year - along with Brandon Jennings proving that he too deserves as much attention - most of Blake's cards have gone into a tumble.  That's 'tumble', not 'freefall'.  Some of his better offerings will still cost you a bit, but when he finally gets on the floor those costs will just inflate once again.

Blake also has the distinction of being the rookie face of Panini.  He's done his fair share of cards - so the selection will be huge.  For myself, I'm content having his regular Panini offerings - I can't collect everybody.  But if you've not got a player to collect yet, this may be one of the bigger names in the years to come, and now is the best time to begin to accumulate what will one day be his more elusive offerings.
