Nicolas Batum's career game

Finally it happened.  Batum was left in the game long enough to build a stat line worthy of an All-Star.  And more importantly, he was given permission to score.

Batum played over 33 minutes.  That's a huge step up from the 20-23 minutes that he had been getting.  Pretty much he got to play an extra quarter.  And boy did he make that quarter count.  Just to let you know, he had 22 points in the 3rd quarter.

His complete line was 31 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers, 11-16 fromt the field and that includes 5 of 8 from the 3 point line.  5 three pointers.  Huge.

His 33 minutes led the team in minutes played.  I have to give coach some credit on this one.  When the starters built the lead, he left Batum in for an extended period with Roy and Miller to maintain the lead.

There was serious celebration in my house.  I cracked open the scotch and toasted the performance.  His RC prices may never be the same.  But I'm too happy to care.

It was a great game. Batum was amazing. So was Aldridge. I actually dropped Batum from my fantasy team this morning, but I still get his stats for tonight.

That was definitely fun to watch after the frustrating Bulls loss. I liked seeing Nic admit that he knew how many points he had scored during the postgame interview because a lot of players try to play it off like they have no idea.
