I know. It's a cheap move. And it's only something I do for Batum Bowmans. If I can't have them, nobody should have them mentality. If you're an insane player collector, you know the feeling. In any event, by being a bit of a jerk and bumping up the price I won the auction myself. Granted, the price was still low by Batum Bowman standards, so I wasn't too put out by it. And this was all pre "no funds" in March Experiment, so it was still a legal move.
So back to my point, I'm going to the mailbox and I know by the tracking numbers that these cards are coming. So at least I knew I'd get a bit of Manila Envelope Love. And that's always fun. But - and this is a huge but - waiting for me was a package from Big D. And I knew that we hadn't decided to trade anything. I figured maybe he saw a Murad mini he'd found or something. But the contents of the package were much much cooler than that.
Behold, the Big D Bold Batum card:
Try to imagine my surprise at opening the package and seeing one of his Big D Bold's looking back at me. And the quality of this card is insane. I'm baffled that he could actually make something like this. And it is a one of a kind. I'm stoked to be able to have this, and I'm glad I'm one of the people he decided to make a card for.
So a big big thanks to Big D. This card really does mean a lot.

Isn't it rad? He sent me an updated version of the Fernandez card that's all glossy and on thick card stock. I love it.
Haha, awesome Batooooom!
Very nce! I don't think weve talked But I'm grant from old school pack buster ( I don't get on my blog all that much) but I'm a huge blazer fan and live here in Vancouver,WA. (just moved back from Vegsa after 12 years of missing blazer games! : ( . Anyway maybe we should talk a little more I have a ton of Batum's but I focused more on Bayless ( Big mistake! have around 5 Auto's) but I'm sure he will come along. Anyway just wanted to drop you a note and say hello to a fellow blazer fan and if there's any cards you need just email me I may have them N jsut send them out. I'm a really generous trader and usually I just send out cards and do't really expect much in return if I don't have a use for them. I'm usually on Beardy n Mojo's blog/I am joe collector breaks/SCU/ETC.. and sent a lot of cards out with no complaints. Nice to see that there is a fellow Rip city collector out there! LMK what you need! One of my best Blazers pulls since I got back into the hobby was a Greg Oden Topps Xrfracror Rookie auto! Wish I would have sold that one 2+ years ago when I pulled it! I'm sure it's gone way down since! But it was hard to think about selling that card at the time he was looking good. grantvegas247@yahoo.com oldschoolpackbuster.com
Guy, you are very welcome. They are a lot of fun to make and it's nice that everyone really seems to appreciate them. Keep up the great work on your blog and good luck tonight. On second thought, forget that last part! Go Mavs!
Big D, Your cards are really Awsome seems to be on allot of blogs great work! Grant
I'm the rookie here. Can someone, maybe even Big D himself, explain this card a bit?
He makes his own cards. I'm not sure how exactly he does it (the process that is) but they're a completely unique creation made by the man himself.
Very cool.
