The quest to build the complete Murad set, combined with the journey into collecting hockey. Yeah, I changed the blog name again. I'm cool like that.

I think Panini is starting to get better at this
Really, say what you will, but this stuff is really starting to look nice. There's been a couple of early Panini releases that all kind of blurred together. Threads had some nice inserts, obviously I like some of Certified, but the earlier stuff didn't 'pop' for me.
Panini sent over these images today of Absolute Memorabilia, and I have to say that the Kobe card may be one of the best auto card designs I've seen. Seriously, not too shabby. It's due to release in May, so it's good to see that Panini still has some basketball for us to collect going forward in the year.
I might not collect every release that comes out, but I do look for insert sets. In fact, when I'm done with the Certified Imports, I'm thinking about going back and collecting the mini-jerseys in Threads. I don't know why, but I love those little things.
Seriously, if Panini could go ahead and produce a couple of Blazers auto cards like the one above, they'd have a life-long collector.

That Kobe card is very nice. You can even see his ugly-ass shoes. Shoes in a Panini release. They really are coming along.
That Kobe is sweet. This definitely looks like it has some potential. I hope the base cards look as nice.
When I saw those today, my first thought was... ugh... Kobe.
The Kobe is sweet. It would be nice if they show cased a couple other players in addition to Kobe, but this is the first year and maybe they will add to their repertoire and continue to improve as they are improving with every release.
I def agree, Threads has some nice inserts. I like Prestige too, but Certified and Contenders doesn't do it for me for the most part.
Oh this looks nice.
But I'm so tired of the stickers auto. Please, please put some ink on those cards, damn you stickers.
I'd like for Panini to use a different shape for the patch of the RPM card. It looks too much like Limited.
