Sunday Morning Pack Battle - March 28th, 2010

I haven't done a pack battle in some time, so I guess it was due.  And today, I found a couple of retail packs.  And one of the packs I was VERY keen to open for some time.  I'm actually surprised that they made retail packs of the latest Star Wars release.  So yay me.

First the basketball though.  It is a basketball site after all.

In one retail pack there really wasn't anything spectacular in it.  I picked the best photography cards though.

Really I'm never dissapointed with the cards I pull from the 09/10 Topps packs.  The photography is just never sub-par.

But really, this pack battle isn't even about 09/10 Topps.  It's about our new challenger.

And it's starts off pretty well for the Star Wars.  I'm definetely pleased with what I'm seeing.  There were seven cards in the pack.  Here's the first six:

First off, there are varying types of art in the cards.  There's traditional comic book, manga, the 'Unleashed' art, propaganda art and Cartoon Network stylings.  And that's just in the one pack.  I love the Unleashed looking Yoda card.  That card would normally be my favorite.

But there was a surprise in my pack that I'm definetely glad I pulled.  The front of the pack offers up that 'foil etch cards' are randomly inserted into packs.  And wouldn't you know that I got one?  They might not be the rarest thing on earth.

But I pulled a really cool one.

The foil makes it hard to see the detail on the front of the card.  But it's really cool.  It's a picture of some of the more famous bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe.  It's really cool.  I'm totally geeking out over it.

Winner:  Easily Boba Fett and the Star Wars Galaxy Series 5.
