I'll admit it. I'm a horse racing fan. I love the Kentucky Derby. I love the Triple Crown chase.
I grew up watching horses at Yellowstone Downs in Billings Montana. Still some of my favorite memories. The smell of the stalls, the post parade and the race. Just fun stuff.
Now, there's a report that certain tracks are going to implement a horse painting system. For real. Horses will be painted the same color of their number's colors. So the seven horse in American racing is typically with orange saddle and jockey silks. Now, they'll paint the horse orange for the race.
The reason? So that fans can more easily track their horses as they go around the track. I think it's a good idea - in theory.
But who the hell knows how this will look in practice. An orange and a red and a blue horse coming down the wire might just look...off.
But racing is a dying sport. There are only a few locales that still turn a good crowd. Anything to bring families back though.

If they put silly hats on the horses, I would bring my family. Who doesn't love silly hats?
