Another underwhelming performance by the Cavs last night has kicked off the greatest tizzy on SportsCenter since Rachel Nichols camped out in front of Brett Favre's house last summer. Seriously, ESPN SportsCenter can be a bit...hurried...when they show clips or give commentary. But this morning they stayed on Lebron for about fifteen minutes straight. I guess being the Chosen One, Lebron cured ESPN's ADD for a spell.
So to get baseball highlights I had to finally switch over to MLB network. But that's another story.
Either way, ESPN is correct in stating the obvious - this summer will be huge. It's going to shape the landscape of the NBA for the next decade to come. It's seriously a big deal.
The free agents this year, in addition to Lebron, are Bosh, Wade and Amare Stoudemire. That's insane. And it's all up in the air as to how it's all going to play out. Just when you think that the world couldn't possibly handle one more reality show - this is one group of guys that could capture huge ratings if they let cameras follow them around for the off-season. I'd watch.
And to further the good things that the NBA has going for it, the final four teams left in the playoffs are all really about to give us some great matchups. But those matchups for the moment are put on the back burner to talk about free-agency of all things.
Outside of Cleveland, the whole world is really excited to see how it ends up. Because, by all accounts, it looks like Cleveland is about to get crapped on again. They lost Cliff Lee. Then they lost....Brady Quinn? OK, maybe football isn't the best example here. But Cleveland hasn't had a football team since the Browns went to Baltimore. And now, they're probably going to lose Lebron. Tough break.
But let's face it - if I were a betting man (which usually I am), my twenty spot is on this...
I wonder how much the first Lebron Knicks auto/patch card will go for?

You know, the more I hear about Chicago, the more I think it would be a better fit for him. I've officially jumped on the LBJ to Chicago bandwagon.
I'm not a huge LeBron guy. I hope he stays in Cleveland, but I think he would be better off in ChiTown.
I don't buy Chicago. I see Lebron as being too full of himself to walk in MJ's footsteps. I mean, c'mon. He'll never be able to duplicate - or better yet surpass what MJ did - if he played there.
Too many comparisons and shortcoming if he follows MJ. Look how good the Cavs were this year (best record in NBA) still didn't come close to pulling off the 70 win season like MJ's Bulls did.
I'm sorry, he's going to NY or Brooklyn (NETS) and he's going to maximize his advertising dollar in the Big Apple.
I don't think he want to work in MJ's shadow either. I can't figure why he'd want to go to NY though. How much more advertising $ can he possibly get. It's not like he's not everywhere already. I don't think just adding Lebron makes them awesome or anything. They'll need a lot more. I think he should come to Dallas. That makes perfect sense to me!
Since G bet on NY my money is on.................................................................................any where else!!!!!!!!
