The Murad Quest continues - by surprise!

Yesterday was the greatest mailday of my collecting career.  Not only did I get my Nicolas Batum printing plate (which was huge) I also got a couple of X-Men comics in the mail as well.  I picked Uncanny X-Men number 500 to start back into the storyline.  Remember a while back I found out that issue 524 is the issue where Nightcrawler died.  So I had to start somewhere to get the backstory that leads up to that.  I like round numbers - so number 500 sounded about right.

But that's beside the point.  So I get a couple of pristine comics, a Batum printing plate, zero bills and another manila envelope surprise.  And it was a package from Walker, from the Blazer Blog.  Walker's a good writer, but he's been busy with school, so I can't wait for him to start back into the blog again this summer.  But he does have an active youtube page where you can see some of his monster cards.  He's got a Zach Randolph collection that is probably one of the most extensive out there.

So, that Walker sent me a package.  I wasn't expecting anything from him, we didn't have a trade set up.  And inside the package was something that I didn't have yet.  And something that is pretty key for a Blazers fan.

Here it is:

He sent me a Clyde Drexler Murad relic.  And it's the SP version numbered 06/51!  Granted, the card is in the Houston uniform, but who's to say that it's not really a white Blazer jersey in there?  It does state that it was used in an NBA game.  I'm just going to say that it's a Blazers relic.

But how cool is that?  A great card on the greatest mailday I've ever had.  Thanks so much to Walker.  I'll be on the lookout for something he could use.

This is my 30th relic in the set too.  Only 20 more to go.  If I do this right, I could have all the relics done by the end of summer and focus my energy (and limited funds) on getting the autograph set knocked out as well.  Thanks again Walker.  You helped make a special day just that much more rewarding.

Glad you like it! Sounds like a great day for mail!!

I just pulled a Classics Drexler jersey and figured my Murad one had an opportunity to go to a better home ;)

Thanks for the compliments!
