The first part of the first round was very back and forth, very aggressive. And then Liddell kicked Franklin for a body shot that landed on Franklin's left arm. And he broke the arm. End of fight, right? No.
With a broken arm, Franklin kept in it and ended up delivering a direct blow to Liddell's face with 5 seconds left in the 1st round to end it by knockout. Have I abused the italics for dramatic effect enough yet?
I'm stunned by the fight. Absolutely stunned. Liddell's 40 years old now, and by that knockout, it's hard to see him coming back for another bout. If you're not into UFC yet, it's really starting to get some quality talent and there's no better time to start watching.
What a day. What a day. World Cup and UFC. I'll put today in the 'win' column.
Hey, there's always poker, Chuck.

Jim Carey... I mean Rich Franklin is the man!
Yes he is. I've got a whole new level of respect for that guy.
