Murad relic card - of Chris Paul. Finally. This has been one of those cards that's been hard to track down for a decent price as well. And seemingly, it's rarely offered on ebay or anywhere else. So when I finally found one that didn't charge me a half day's wages, I jumped on it. And how can you not love the yellow jersey swatch in there? Really a good looking card. And this card is number 38 of the 50 I need. Only 12 more left to go folks. That in itself is a huge achievement for me.
This card came with a 'free' card as well. The seller bundled it with a Chirs Paul 08/09 Topps Treasury refractor numbered 014/999. I've never had a Topps Treasury card in my possession before. I thought the whole thing was pretty gimmicky when it came out. But truthfully, the card stock and gloss are some of the best I've seen come out of that year. I'm not sure if it's because it's a refractor or not, but really a sharp card. And even though the scan doesn't show it, the refractor technology does a ton to fill in the dead space on the card.
The thing I like most about this card, and I wish more sets would do it, are the stats on the back. Because it's not the run of the mill stats. For example, in a Hornets loss, Paul's 3PT% is only .297 - compared with the .400 he shoots in wins. See? That's actually a stat that tells you something important. Otherwise, to get stats like that you'd have to go to the internet and look them up yourself. So kudos to Topps for putting something like that on there.
I'm not a huge CP3 fan, though. I do respect his game, of course, but I don't collect him. So if anybody's a Chris Paul fan out there, let me know. I'll put the Treasury refractor up on the facebook page for trade, too.
