I don't know why, but I'm watching MNF at the moment. And really, I'm not a fan of either NYJ or BAL, but I'm watching.
Hi, my name is Guy and I'm a sports addict.
I can't help myself. I seek out live sports. Even games I have no rooting interest in.
So we all know that for MLB, Joe Morgan is pretty much the worst broadcaster of all time. Haughty, arrogant, misinformed, etc etc.
Well, I'm watching the NFL game on ESPN and damnit if Ron "Jaws" Jaworski isn't just "Captain Obvious". I thought I hated Joe Theisman's broadcast (well I still do). But having Jaws for color commentary is like nails on chalkboard to me. At least Gruden was a coach. He at least brings an X's and O's logic to the commentary.
But even so, Jaws isn't the worst in the NFL. How about Troy Aikman working for Fox always seeming to call the Cowboys games? Uggh.
So here it is, my worst national broadcasters for the major sports. Feel free to disagree.
NBA - Reggie Miller. Who the hell let him and Cheryl have mics? Really have you heard them speak? Have you heard them speak?
MLB - Joe Morgan. Nuff said. I can't even watch Sunday Night Baseball anymore.
NFL - Troy Aikman. C'mon Fox. C'mon Fox. You're not even trying to hide the bias there. Fair and balanced my ass. It's bad enough if the Cowboys are the only game on. It's doubly worse if I have to listen to the cheerleader in the broadcast booth.
There it is. No I have to mute the game and watch youtube videos while keeping an eye on the score.

You can tell who Brent Mustberger bet on 10 minutes in. I don't like Jon Gruden. Tonight he said that "next week the Jets will face the 'red hot' Patriots." What the hell are you talking about? Yes, the Patriots are undefeated. But so are the Buccaneers.
Great read... I guess I need to watch live sports more often :-( I can't think of anyone off the top of my head... although Madden used to bug, b/c he was a know-it-all.
NBA - Definitely Reggie Miller, and I'll also throw in Jalen Rose even though he doesn't do live games (as far as I know). Sorry, Pacers fans.
MLB - Tim McCarver, the Marlins broadcasters for FSN Florida, "Hawk" Harrelson (White Sox).
NFL - Kevin Harlan, Mike Tirico. I would have put Harlan under NBA, but there are worse NBA guys. I don't have a huge problem with most of the national NFL broadcasters, but maybe I don't pay attention enough. I just mention Tirico because he's not charismatic at all and I think he doesn't deserve Monday Night Football. Hell, I thought Brad Nessler did a pretty good job tonight and would rather he did the regular games instead of Tirico.
There are so many awful regional MLB announcers, though. I guess that's what I get for following an out of market team on cable.
I will never understand the hate for Hawk Harrelson. :/
