The high price of my sports gambling...a warning to readers

How's that for a title to get you to click on my site?  Pretty good.  And yet, also true.

It's no secret that I'm a huge sports fan, but I also have a problem taking bets on sporting events that I shouldn't - and I don't mean money wagering.  Suprisingly, I don't really bet money on sports, just the horses.  But I love a good bet all the same, the more creative the better.

But this bet really hurt me.  A buddy of mine at work is a huge Packers honk, and I'm a Steelers fan - so a bet seemed to be in the cards for the Super Bowl.  But since we both make close to the same amount of money, we both knew that we were in no shape to be making money bets.  So we had to go something a bit more sinister - a bit more painful.

The loser of the bet (namely, me) had to buy a decal of the winning team and post it on his car window for a month.  Today begins one of the longest months of my life.  Since I lost, I went to ebay and found a sticker and it just came today.  Putting this decal on my car was hard.  Very hard.

Now, I've lost bets in the past where I've had to shave my head bald, eat something spicy etc etc.  This crosses the line - and it was my idea to boot.  Just shows you how serious I was that I could win this bet.

Be careful kiddies, gambling is dangerous.

DUDE, Funniest thing I've read in a while. I could see you walking to your car and turning around, walking back, and fighting inwardly on whether or not you should do it.

I would've put it on cardboard, sealed it, and attached a magnet both on the decal and the inside of my window. That way I could remove it at my liesure. Ha.

I feel bad for you holmes.

I love it on multiple levels...

a. glad to see you're man of your word

b. glad to see that the value of your vehicle just went up with that beautiful addition

c. glad to see you're an honorary Packers fan

Sorry to rub it in bro... but I'm still pissed at the 2005 Super Bowl outcome.

At least you guys still have the most Super Bowl victories in NFL history. Hopefully Rodgers will change that in the next few years.

Keep up the great blog G and have a great weekend!

The best part of this - will be the multiple conversations that will spark up, in parking lots, with you because of this; such as; 'Hey! You're a Packers fan! GREAT! Me too!'...I would love to hear your internal dialog when THAT happens ~
