So, this weekend I busted my remaining four packs of my HTA box of Topps Series 1. Did I lose my nerve? No.
I read that the time to send in the wrappers for the wrapper redemption were most likely almost out. So I took a chance. I'm really not expecting to get a pack for my wrappers. I've never done a wrapper redemption before - I had no idea how rabid people would be to get their wrappers in.
So I busted my final four packs to get my last ditch effort of receiving an extra pack.
Either way, here's what I got in my last four packs. Some pretty good stuff actually.
Notable inserts were a Josh Hamilton die-cut, Warren Spahn Chasing History and Willie McCovey Chasing History.
But we've all seen the inserts, I'll just get right to the hits. Here's how the first pack started out:
I was kind of excited how fat this thing was. I was really hoping that it would be a Koufax.
But when I finally got to it, I was still pretty impressed with the card - even if the subject isn't pulling a ton on the secondary market.
It's seriously the thickest card I've ever pulled though. It's not heavy like the coin cards, but it's thick.
I pulled a 2003 Cy Young commemorative card of Roy Halladay. Not bad. But at least I can say that I pack pulled one of the "thick cards" that twitter was blowing up over.
And for my auto in the box - the auto that made me think this box would've really been better off for a Braves fan - I pulled this beauty.
For a sticker auto product, it's still a pretty great looking card. And the auto is from an era where people still gave a damn about their signatures.
So that's it. I'll see if I can snag an extra pack - but I was very impressed with this product and with my box in general.

Love the Justice loved watching him play with the Braves.
that Halladay card is insanely thick, haven't seen a card that thick before. Pretty nice hits for your last few packs. I have two more to go, and waiting for my last hit. Hope it's one of those Cy Young ones.
Pretty solid auto too.
I love my cards, like I like my ladies... t h i c k. J/P. Nice Halladay. And that Justice is an awesome pull. I remember when he was with Halle Berry... so envious.
