But not to delay this any longer, here's what I HAD to have when I saw it.
I now have the Wrought Iron SP version of the Proven Mettle coin card of Roberto Clemente.
So for those keeping score, I have the Copper /99 and the Iron /50. All I need now is the super-duper rare Steel version /10 to complete the metal-rainbow (which is the manliest kind of rainbow, by the way).
I wish I could lie to you all and tell you I got a steal on this card - but after checking the ebay prices, I can say that I paid market value for this addition. Again, there is inherent value in a Clemente card - and I don't feel that a SP card like this is ever really going to lose value. These are some of the coolest, most unique cards I've ever owned. It's all about value right now for me - and this has value. I imagine that should I ever complete the trio of metals, it would be an even more valuable asset to have.
The checklist for the coin-card subjects is pretty much the best of the best for players of all generations. But if you're a serious player collector for one of the players on that list, these cards are a great addition to any PC.
I can't tell you how many times something arrives in the mail and you get that sneaking buyers remorse over the purchase. I am glad to say I don't have that feeling today. I look forward to seeing what Topps does with their super-inserts next year based on these cards here.

Nice purchase. Best of luck on finding the "steel" numbered to 10. That rainbow will definitely be "manly".
I never feel bad on paying fair market value on cards I know are tough to find or highly sought after. When these cards start making their way into collector's PC's... you won't be able to find them on eBay... so you were smart to grab the #'d to 50 version right now. Congratulations bro!
Very nice addition to the collection, those are great pieces to own.
Sweet looking card and cant go wrong with RC a true hero in every aspect. Congrats!!
